Templ Fitness intro Bio

Hi, I’m nic! My fitness journey began early—back in grade 4, I discovered my natural talent for running and started training myself by going on 5km runs. By grade 9, I added weightlifting to the mix, aiming to bulk up for football while building speed for track and field. Throughout high school, I was dedicated to football and track, competing at both school and club levels.

During university, I decided to push my boundaries and took up rowing. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Brock University, I continued to explore new challenges, even trying pole dance for six months (and surprising myself with how good I was at it!). But fitness wasn’t just about sports for me; it became a tool to manage anxiety and depression I’d battled since 15. It empowered me to grow into a stronger, more confident person, both mentally and physically.

My personal experiences shaped my approach to fitness. At 16, I tore my ACL, requiring surgery at 19. Later, at 21, I suffered a torn hip labrum, undergoing another surgery at 24. These injuries were wake-up calls, teaching me the importance of self-care and functional movement. I channeled these lessons into specializing in mobility, corrective exercise, functional strength, and biomechanics to help heal myself and others.

Professionally, I became a trainer at GoodLife at 23 and and at 25 joined F45 as a group trainer until 29. I started my own online personal training services at 26, tailoring workouts for busy professionals, at-home trainees, and athletes alike. Now, as a trainer at Templ Fitness, I focus on helping others address posture, prevent injuries, and unlock their full potential through functional strength and movement.

What drives me? I know firsthand the challenges of living with both physical pain and mental struggles. Fitness has been my gateway to resilience and growth, and I’m passionate about sharing that experience. Whether it’s overcoming injuries, building confidence, or simply feeling great after a good lift, I work to empower my clients with the tools they need to take charge of their health.

When I’m not training, you’ll probably find me geeking out over health and wellness podcast/books or enjoying a strong cup of coffee or both. Let’s connect and work together to make your fitness goals a reality!
